Dark reverie meets modern struggles in Vision Video's 'Modern Horror' [Album]

Vision Video's fairly anticipated LP, Modern Horror, pushes the boundaries of goth rock to new emotional and sonic heights. With a brooding ecosystem that cloaks soaring melodies, the Athens-based band delves deeper into dark realities, producing a listening experience that is gripping and introspective. This eleven-music file is a testament to the band’s evolution, weaving present-day societal horrors into a rich tapestry of vintage put-up-punk and opportunity impacts.

Produced at Maze Studios beneath Grammy Award-winner Ben Allen (Erasure, Washed Out), 'Modern Horror' retains the grit that Vision Video enthusiasts adore while increasing its sound palette. The album’s intensity is masterfully tied collectively by using the mythical getting-to-know of Frank Arkwright at Abbey Road Studios, adding a timeless polish. Tracks like "Never Enough" and "In My Side" display the band's increase, melding haunting guitar riffs with synths that linger within the ecosystem long after the final notes fade.

Frontman Dusty Gannon's vocals reach new levels of expressiveness, drawing listeners into topics of trauma, protest, and resilience. His real-international reviews as an anti-warfare veteran and firefighter breathe authenticity into each lyric, evoking a visceral response. Co-vocalist and keyboardist Emily Fredock is equally captivating, using antique synths to layer haunting melodies. At the same time, new drummer Ryan Houchens injects fierce power, ensuring every beat resonates with a compelling heartbeat-like ferocity.

'Modern Horror' is more politically charged than its predecessors, not shying far from topics like the creeping upward thrust of extremism and societal disillusionment. The band's stark, sincere storytelling and fiery instrumentation have made this album a pressing soundtrack for our instances, complex listeners to stand cutting-edge.
