Leeds-based alt-pop duo Lucky Iris has released their eagerly awaited EP, 'Something To Believe In', via EMI North and Launchpad+. Following a surge of national radio support and their debut TV appearance, this EP highlights their best work and precedes their performance opening for Dorian Electra.
Describing their music as “for dancing or crying,” Lucky Iris has earned acclaim as one of Leeds' premier pop bands. Their signature sound features vibrant melodies and punchy electronic backdrops, creating relatable and accessible tracks. Lead vocalist Maeve explains that the EP reflects themes of playful self-discovery, casual existentialism, and the joys of friendship.
Opening with the scintillating title track, Maeve's vocals are honey-sweet with lashings of attitude in her delivery- the perfect pairing for the instantly memorable anthem. As the EP meanders through bedroom pop beats, hyperpop-esque production nods, and euphoric, bouncing synths, Lucky Iris clarifies that they know exactly who they are as artists.
This EP is polished and captivating, mixed by Richard Wilkinson, known for his work with Adele, and mastered by Antony Ryan of Oh Wonder fame. Since forming in 2020, Lucky Iris has enjoyed notable breakthroughs in both the sync and radio world, and with upcoming performances at prestigious events and venues, Lucky Iris continues to solidify their place as a force to be reckoned with.
