Irish-born rock ‘n’ roll artist Black Pope has released his debut album White Smoke on Friday, October 18th. The album features the lead single “She’s Alive,” a powerful track that channels ‘50s rock while exploring themes of love and strength.
Black Pope describes “She’s Alive” as a love song rooted in embracing imperfections. Inspired by a moment of deep affection while watching Frankenstein (1931), he explains that the title came to him whilst sprawled on the couch, and reflects his ongoing theme of darkness— but more extreme and unhinged this time.
Critically acclaimed for his cinematic sound, Black Pope has earned the moniker “rock’n’roll demon child.” With White Smoke, he continues to delve into themes of survival and defiance, blending gritty guitars with evocative lyrics that explore the tension between life and death.
With a strong showing at Ireland Music Week, Black Pope is poised to make a lasting impact with the explosive energy and mystery he’s known for.
