Cornelia Murr questions us on "How Do You Get By"

A year since her last collaboration with Alice Boman, indie pop musician Cornelia Murr returns with her dreamy single "How Do You Get By." Based in LA and signed with her new record label 22TWENTY, Murr has proven her ability to self-produce and write compelling lyrics throughout her discography. Capturing the hearts of fans in her previous 2018 album Lake Tear of the Clouds and 2022 EP Corridor, Murr builds on her sonically tranquil universe with this latest release.

Working alongside producer Luke Temple, "How Do You Get By" layers an array of cosmic synths between a steady drum beat and a plucking bass. The track feels like an upward climb towards betterment, examining the burdens of economic issues and the search for stability and purpose. It also can be interpreted as an exploration of the aspects of life that get us through the day – love, relationships, passions, or goals – and how we value them to live in peace. The question posed in the song's title and echoed in the chorus remains unanswered by the end, prompting us to reflect on how we judge others’ lives to better our own: "What’s the richness in your life / From where can you derive?"

Stream "How Do You Get By" out now on all DSP's.
