After announcing his upcoming sixth studio album, Better Me Than You, Detroit native and GRAMMY®–nominated rapper Big Sean releases his brand new music video and second single, ‘On Up,’ available now via Def Jam Recordings.

Dedicated to his son Noah, “On Up” explores Sean’s thoughts and introspection. During his first year as a father, Sean shares his experiences and emotions of the transience that comes with life and parenthood. Throughout the song, Sean reflects on the life lessons he’s learned and looks to pass on to his son one day.

Directed by his son’s godfather, Lawrence Lamont, the video features camera angles from the perspective of his son through sentimental moments from his first steps, going out for a walk, and being cared for, with appearances from his parents, family members, friends, and the mother of his child Jhené Aiko. Overall, the single provides an uplifting tone that derives from Sean’s growth as an individual and an artist.

Additionally, Big Sean took to Instagram to further share his joys of fatherhood. Showing gratitude for his family and loved ones being a part of the visuals stating:

"One of my favorite videos, full of my favorite people, and shot by Noah’s God Dad @lawrencelamont. I appreciate my family being apart and especially @jheneaiko cause she was exhausted but still came thru to help make this idea such a special video for me. Hopefully one Day Noah will look back n see how adored he is by his family, this video doesn’t even show a fraction of that honestly. My side of the family being from Detroit dont get to spend as much time with Noah, but glad they were here for this piece. Love to all the parents, grandparents, Aunties, Uncles, etc that make it happen! 🤲🏾✨❤️"

Be sure to stream and watch the full video for ‘On Up’ on all digital streaming platforms.
