Ashbourne indie-rock outfit Public Warning is back with their latest single, "Reckless." This track is a tantalising preview of their forthcoming EP, OVER/UNDER. Produced by Keelan O’Reilly, "Reckless" showcases the band's signature dynamic style, blending bright guitar riffs, synth washes, and a robust rhythm section. The song transitions from gentle, swirling verses to an explosive chorus reminiscent of Catfish and the Bottlemen.
Frontman Adam O’Dea's melancholic yet melodic vocals add a catchy element, balancing the track's alt-rock intensity with commercial appeal. O’Dea explains, "Reckless tells the story of how suspicions and mistrust can tear down a relationship just as quickly and violently as infidelity. While staying true to our indie-rock roots, 'Reckless' explores a heavier sound than our previous singles, which you can expect more of on our upcoming EP 'OVER/UNDER'."
Recorded at Jejune Studios in Drogheda earlier this year, "Reckless" and the rest of the EP mark a new chapter for Public Warning. Since forming in 2015, the band—comprising lifelong friends Adam O’Dea, JP Roche, Robbie Szpara, and Mark Tuite—has captivated audiences with their powerful lyrics and tight rhythms.
