Dresden-based duo & creative force ÄTNA, known for their innovative fusion of music and visually striking videos, deliver yet another compelling piece that teases their forthcoming album set for release this Autumn.
"Major Love" is a synth-driven track that ebbs and flows with a rich, boundaryless creativity. The lush synths and dynamic rhythms create an immersive soundscape, showcasing the duo’s knack for blending captivating hooks with avant-garde elements. Inéz and Demian’s dedication to their craft is palpable, as they draw inspiration from their adventurous road trip through America’s neglected areas, resulting in a poignant live video shot amidst abandoned oil rigs at sea.
“After our appearance at the SXSW Festival in Austin, we embarked on a road trip through neglected areas of America that had been left to languish as a result of natural disasters. We spontaneously decided to stay and learn more about the people and their history. With the oyster diver, we finally decided to shoot a live video on the open sea in front of a "graveyard" of abandoned oil rigs. We've always enjoyed shooting one-shot videos of our live performances, but this one was the most challenging in the blazing sun and the dizzying rocking of the fishing boat!" – ÄTNA
Despite their affiliation with the Dresden music scene, ÄTNA’s influence stretches far beyond, capturing the attention of global audiences and industry giants alike. Their previous works, "Made By Desire" and "Push Life," marked a significant departure from conventional German pop, earning them critical acclaim and a dedicated following. Collaborations with renowned artists and orchestras further highlight their versatility and innovative spirit.
In "Major Love," ÄTNA continues to defy expectations, blending the dreamy essence of Air's "Moon Safari" with the indie vibe of The XX, and the sensuality of Smoke City's "Underwater Love." It's a sensory escape that promises more groundbreaking music from this dynamic duo. Keep an eye on ÄTNA as they carve out their unique space in the music world.
