After his explosive single "Wazzup" garnered buzz and notoriety on the internet sometime last year, up-and-coming UK rapper YTN Tee follows through with his new single "LIGHTSABER".
Bolstered by AyP's lush piano arrangements and smooth drum grooves, Tee playfully skates over the backdrop with bravado and engaging lyricism. Using Star Wars references, adrenaline-fuelled machismo and a dash of playfulness, he sets the tone with bars like "It's not by force, I just give her da lightsaber/ then I skywalk off, I got some skywalker kush on me/All she know is men and trash memes and P.L.T when she need TLC…" before mimicking the late DMX in the following lines "she call my phone, she call me a dog but she the one looking for a bone..roof."
I reckon, the lightsaber he is referring to means something but hey, who knows as long as it gets people going and it's provocative and entertaining.
YTN tee adds that the track was put together in less than a week, and the process was straight in the studio for two days, with shooting the video on the third day. Now, that is what I call efficiency coupled with a streamlined work ethic.
The visuals start with YTN in the studio with his homies and proceed to several performance shots in different spots, all threaded by subtle visual effects and motifs that keep viewers locked in from start to finish.
