Rising Hollywood-based indie pop star Tiger La Flor's brand of nostalgia-inducing retro pop has made her one of our faves in recent times. Charting her lane, she often pairs her songs with sepia-tined visuals taken from yesteryears- continuing her love for nostalgia and the memories of the decades before social media and the internet. Her newest entry in this retro release is the Izzy Perri-produced "rope bunny", a mellow and moody pop number that is ripe with slick guitar riffs, crisp grooves and a warm texture underpinned by the singer's lilting and somewhat nasally vocal runs. Here, she embodies the spirit of a free spirit who basks in the aura of nightlife and the ecstasy of the first touch when sensual tensions are brewing.
"i could be the rope bunny honey of your dreams
kiss me hard sugar
sweet like whipped cream
wanna be your rope bunny honey make a scene"
The lyrics are vivid, unapologetic and cheeky while the overall sound is reminiscent of 70s and 80s hits from artists like Prince, ABBA, and Madonna. The accompanying visual is mostly inspired by 80s fashion ranging from high couture to fitness, dance and the changing cultural landscape in that decade.
The single will be part of Tiger La Flor's highly anticipated debut EP see me in hell will be coming out this May.
