The 6th Man (Ep) is a 5-track project from emerging Los Angeles hip-hop artist Mar Keith Anthony and it serves as his 3rd project since his foray into the music industry. The EP sees him working exclusively with 4x Grammy Award-winning producer Jairus Mozee from Long Beach, CA who crafts all the beats and executively produced the project. The title is a play off the basket term and sees Mar Keith Anthony embodying the resilient spirit of the 6th man who is ready to go the extra mile for the win.
The project opens on a high note with “Put Me in the Game”, and he cuts straight to the chase with bravado lines like “Ain’t shit changed when I’m balling with the gang, throw some ice on my click/ Ain’t shit changed when I’m balling with my babe, throw some ice on my bitch” over the sparsely arranged bass-heavy backdrop. Bolstered by an expressive melodic flow peppered with unfiltered bars, Mar Keith flexes on the opposition while reminding them of his ascent.
This is followed by the single “Go In”, which was leaked at the Lakers vs Warriors game at the Crypto.com Arena in front of 20k attendees, and It was something of a crowd favourite with its anthemic energy and hard-hitting drums. Here, Mar Keith uses a laidback baritone-driven flow reminiscent of Tyga but with his twist as he showcases a lot of wit and charisma to stand out from the pack. It’s the perfect go-getter anthem for audiences to tap into.
The final track: “Keep it 100” starts with a simple kick and snare drum and a pitched-down vocal sample that slowly rises. As the title suggests, Mar Keith embodies his playful persona and touches it up with a glimpse into his hustle game.

In the end, The 6th Man (EP) is a proclamation and bold statement from the rising rapper as he maneuvers through this industry while staying true to himself. The project is extremely short with 3 tracks and 2 radio edits but it gets the job done by appealing to the masses and serves as an appetizer for more music from the rapper.
