Viibra, the avant-garde flute septet hailing from Reykjavik, Iceland, are set to wow neo-classical aficionados once again with their latest single, "Eyg," offering a tantalizing glimpse into their upcoming album project. Renowned for their experimental style and boundary-pushing flute-focused compositions, Viibra has carved a niche for themselves in the Icelandic music scene, drawing parallels to the ethereal landscapes of their homeland.

The brainchild of Viibra's Björg Brjánsdóttir, "Eyg" is a sonic exploration inspired by the innate connection between flutes and human voices. Brjánsdóttir, a luminary in her own right, infuses the piece with a kaleidoscope of emotions, from beautiful chaos to transcendent hymns, echoing the essence of Viibra's artistic ethos. Having garnered acclaim for their involvement in Björk's seminal work and their dynamic contributions to the Icelandic creative milieu, Viibra continues to push musical boundaries with their upcoming album. Composed individually by each member, the album promises to be a tour de force of innovation and collaborative artistry.

As Viibra prepares to unveil their latest sonic masterpiece, fans eagerly anticipate a sonic journey unlike any other, poised to redefine the contours of experimental music. The piece's composer explains  “We wanted to approach the process in a different way than usual. Instead of having the piece ready and fully written down on paper when we went to the studio, I had the main choral along with phrases, textures and sounds ready and then I edited the piece afterwards. I was quite aware of the fact that this piece was for viibra, a septet I have been a part of for almost 8 years. We have some kind of a sisterhood going on between us. There is a lot of trust and that created a save space to try out all kinds of things in the studio. We are very used to being a unit in high pressure situations and experiments. Eyg is a chaotic psalm and maybe a tribute to flutes? I love flute choirs.” – Björg Brjánsdóttir (viibra)
