Taking us down intricate sonic worlds from the off-kilter beats of “Hello Friend,” to the indie-rock guitar licks of “Give Me Time,” the optimistic touches of gritty anthem “Be Gone,” and anthemic closer “Too Much Too Soon,” the project leaves a powerful and lasting impression on us as it highlights the shortcomings of modern-day individualism while still capturing a glimmer of hope within the darkness.
Speaking of the project, he says, “There are a few common themes and ideas running throughout the album. Uncertainty is surely one of them. Another would be that it’s okay to reject divisive ideas fed to us by authoritative figures and if that turns people off, that’s okay. Say hello to friends and cherish the people who push you forward when you feel too slow (you aren’t too slow). Everything does feel different, but while the world may be cruel…don’t let it make you mean.”
Cathartic and frenzied in equal parts, the project continues to push the boundaries of genre, exploring difficult and relatable topics with rich lyrical prowess.
