Leo Sawikin's latest single "Till You're Somebody Else" blends indie rock and indie pop with a sparkly vibe. This tune offers a dreamy peek into Sawikin's changing musical path.
Hailing from the NYC streets, Sawikin made waves with his solo debut "Row Me Away" in 2021 – a collection of dark songs that resonated with peoples pandemic anxieties. After taking a break forced by the lockdown, Sawikin found new inspiration from the revived freedom energy in his downtown Manhattan nabe and collaborating with legendary Seattle producer Phil Ek known for working with rad acts like Built to Spill, Modest Mouse, The Shins and Fleet Foxes, Sawikin has created a fresh sound. Together they've recorded 10 tracks for staggered release over the coming months each track flowing the aesthetic vision Sawikin is newly feeling.
"Till You're Somebody Else" explores how we're always changing, down to our cells. Sawikin reflects, We evolve even physically. This life is just a blip in time, which gives me hope and peace. With floaty melodies and thoughtful words the song invites listeners to embrace change in themselves and the universe.
