Prolific and hard-working lyricist Homeboy Sandman set the tone with his new single "Do It Right". The collaborative piece sees him teaming up with producer Dirt E. Dutch who laces him with a medieval-inspired soundscape made up of vielle, and harp samples with no drums. The backdrop is perfect for Homeboy Sandman's characteristic off-kilter flow and insightful lyrics that center on the real-time issue of being disciplined within romantic relationships. He runs through the dynamics of how modern life has changed our entire perspective, for the worse and everyone is on a never-ending rat race where no winners are announced. Lines like "Society of people bent on bringing home checks/Society of people trying to save they own necks/Running in place and never each the next leg/tryin to lay a nest egg, what you expect?!" put things into perspective and he proceeds to remind us that there is more to life than material wealth.
The accompanying visual uses performance shots with engaging visual effects that tap into the lyrics and help bring his words to life with a whimsical and playful fashion.
