Speaking on the new single, Kitty explains that
'Rent a Smile' is about that universal feeling of happiness when the sun comes out, especially with the gloomy English weather. There is a hint of a darker undertone to the song, alluding to the fact that the happiness might only be temporary, but to enjoy it while it's here! I wrote it with my good friends Macie Nyah and Emily Harbord, and Jules Konieczny produced this third single from my EP. This song feels like a picnic with friends, staying out late to watch the sunset, getting burned, and feeling complete again after a day in the sun.”
