London & Essex alt-rock quartet Sovereigns have announced their new EP 'Paranormal Activity' alongside the release of the single "Ghost". Following successful singles that caught the attention of BBC Introducing and Radio X, Sovereigns are renowned for their energetic live shows blending indie-rock and pop-punk.
"Ghost," the lead single, exemplifies their signature sound, seamlessly fusing catchy melodies with a gradually building guitar-driven backdrop. Starting with strummed guitars and muted drums, the track purposefully evolves towards a distortion-heavy chorus, carrying a poignant undertone. The song explores the complexities of fading relationships and nostalgia, offering a firsthand perspective on the peaks and troughs of rocky connections.
Formed in 2021, Sovereigns quickly gained acclaim for their DIY ethos and lively performances, drawing inspiration from Blink 182, The Libertines, Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth, and Pavement. Despite their youth as a band, Sovereigns has played an impressive 11 shows per month across the UK, including a sold-out show at The Dublin Castle and an invitation to record at Abbey Road.
"Ghost" marks another milestone for Sovereigns, providing a glimpse into the upcoming EP. As they continue to carve their path in the alt-rock scene, Sovereigns promises a captivating journey through the intricacies of life's stranger facets.
