Baltimore based indie-rock outfit Icarus Phoenix shares intimate visuals for "Nostalgia, for Arannis Morissette, the Half-Elf Bard,” a gentle production from their forthcoming EP. Consisting of Drew Danburry, Eli Sims, Leena Rhodes, and Brendan Russell, the band which was founded on friendship offers up a vivid and soothing sonic experience on their latest production.
Speaking of the visuals which compliments the feel-good vibe of the track, Danburry says, I've been pen pals with Cat Palmer since we were fifteen years old. She's an amazing artist, activist, and photographer. We still write handwritten letters to each other. I love her art and I love who she is as a person. I pitched her the idea to make a piece of art inspired by the song "Nostalgia for Arannis Morissette, the Half-Elf Bard" and let me film the process.”
Edited by Arielle Nelson, the cinematic yet minimal video seamlessly documents the full circle of art, journeying from the process of making art, inspired by art, to create more art.
Having built themselves a cut following with their catchy yet meaningful musicality, Icarus Phoenix are set for a promising year with plenty to come from them.
