Boston rhyme slayer M-Dot is not letting his boots off the necks of the detractors, as he prepares to drop a new project Daze Of Greed, but in the interim, he shares the new single "Run Along" which sees him teaming up with the legendary emcee Grand Puba (of Brand Nubian). Bolstered by the thumping soul-sample-driven backdrop provided by The Mighty V.I.C, the duo proceed to wreak havoc with hard-hitting and fiery bars. The track is then solidified with cuts by Dom2er and DJ 7L (of Czarface) who splice vocals from both M-Dot and Grand Puba to stamp their authority. The record was also mastered by legendary engineer Eddie Sancho (Jay-Z, Nas, Gang Starr).
The video edited by Victor Keys is a throwback to the "NBA Jam" days and adds to the traditional sound of the record. The animation makes use of the 16-bit pixelated theme and even shows some nostalgia-inducing gameplay from the NBA Jam games.
The single is taken from the upcoming album Daze Of Greed dropping 3/8/24 and available now for pre-order via Bandcamp. The album features production by M-Phazes, Vinny Idol, 88-Keys, Apollo Brown, The Mighty V.I.C. and appearances by Big Shug (Gang Starr Foundation), Estee Nack (Griselda), Grand Puba (Brand Nubian), Ty Farris & M-Dot’s EMS crew.
