Evenson is an alt pop renegade who is quickly making a name for himself with his creativity and knack for writing eclectic and colorful left of center pop bangers. His latest single is the R&B infused "SADLY, I STILL LOVE YOU". The track is the first of the year from him following last year's single release "WAITING ON SUNSHINE".
With "SADLY, I STILL LOVE YOU", Evenson writes a song all about trying to win an ex lover back. He thinks about when they were together and then realizes how broken their relationship has become with ultimately the two having to part ways for good. Lyrics including, "but I still love you / even though you can't stand the sight of me / but I need you," show the unrequited love he still has for an ex that has moved on. Musically, the song showcases groovy funk-fueled soundscapes, nostalgic R&B vocals full of swagger and confidence. Sexy psychedelic soulful melodies are on full display in this playful layered sonic oasis.
Evenson is a first generation Haitian American who grew up listening to a diverse array of musicians including David Bowie, Lorde, Frank Ocean and Prince. He began sharing his own music in 2019 and his 2020 single "HOW CAN I SLEEP" became an indie hit. "SADLY, I STILL LOVE YOU" is the title track to his new EP of the same name. Take a listen to the new song and enjoy every moment.
