It's been quite a long hiatus but it's only right for us to bring back The Slice, a piece that gives readers a quick glimpse into a handful of musical releases from around the globe.

DemarcoTheMan – "Snowlight".

Las Vegas, NV rapper DemarcoTheMan and his longtime UK-based collaborator producer WANDER team up once again for a new release titled "Snowlight". The record is an off-kilter piece that pairs experimental production with radical rhyming. DemarcoTheMan's edgy lyrics take center stage and his knack for wild unpredictable quips is prominent on this one.

Is our Children Learning  "Quit" (feat. Open Mike Eagle)

Alternative pop group Is our Children Learning team up with Open Mike Eagle, Pandaraps and Big Soda for this uplifting tune titled "Quit". The laidback guitar-driven record centers on the concept of leaving one's job to be free from all the madness of being stuck in the proverbial cycle. The verses are jampacked with heartfelt, humorous and insightful bars that dive into how we judge ourselves on an economic level and the true meaning of finding one's purpose besides paying bills.

Young Black And Gifted – "Dreams" by Young Black and Gifted

Young Black And Gifted is made up of rapper Azariah and prolific producer Kidd Called Quest. The duo have been on the scene for years now and working on their forthcoming collaborative project they deliver the single  "Dreams" which helps set the tone for what listeners should expect. Bolstered by a smooth nostalgia-inducing backdrop, Azariah reflects on life’s ups and downs and how he has managed to weave through the jungle concrete unscathed.

"Dreams" is lifted from the duo's new project Once Again its On which is set to drop on 1/5/24 but it's available for pre-order on Bandcamp.

SoulChef x Steph Pockets – "Live It Up"

New Zealand-based producer SoulChef and rapper/songwriter Steph Pockets team up for the uplifting collaboration titled "Live It Up". The bouncy soulful track serves as the perfect morale booster for everyone as listeners get more than a handful of gems from Steph who reminds us to live and seize the day instead of paying mind to detractors and naysayers.

Chima Anya and Padre Tóxico – "Go Again".

UK rapper Chima Anya and hard-working producer Padre Tóxico deliver this bombastic anthem titled "Go Again". Padre raises the ante with his cinematic and hard-hitting production while Chima crafts verses filled with knowledge and jewels for listeners to live by. A solid combination if you ask me.
