East London-raised artist T Relly grew up around music and was immersed in the beautiful sounds of vintage Reggae and R&B- but his first taste for making music didn't start until a fateful day in Secondary school when he visited a studio with his friend. The recording gave him an internal buzz and he knew where his passion lay and he has since continued to hone his style. His latest release "Love's A Drug" serves as his second single since 2020, as he took some time off to recalibrate and perfect his sound.
"Love's A Drug" is inspired by 2000s R&B records we all love and it's a perfect reintroduction to the artist known as T Relly. Over the warm summery guitar licks, subtle bass-driven grooves and shuffled percussions, he reflects on how love can have a drug-like effect on one's mind in a good way though. His laidback melodic runs have a rich tonal element that stands out and cuts through the mix effortlessly and his candid songwriting also captures the emotions he is feeling for that special someone.
The accompanying video has a bright and inviting aesthetic using a blend of performance shots with scenic cuts that capture the city. It also captures his passion for roller skating ad we get to see him and his crew having fun at the rink and on the streets as well.
"Love's A Drug" is the follow-up to T Relly's 2020 single “Scary Roads”.
