London-based artist and composer Phoebe Coco shares cinematic visuals for genre-bending number “Machine,” the lead single from her new EP I Am Not A Machine. A haunting yet ethereal production that blossomed during Coco’s time at art school, the track is rooted in her evocative vocals that floating upon rich piano melodies.

Recorded at the iconic Abbey Road Studios, the track represents an intricate sonic journey that skilfully blurs the boundaries between genres and art forms, with Coco surrounding herself with exceptional talent including three-time Grammy winner Eduardo De La Paz co-producing the song and the track being expertly mastered by Kevin Tuffy, a recent winner of the Mastering Engineer of the Year award.

A captivating production that channels the overall theme of human connection to nature that forms the core of the EP, the delicacy of the track is elevated by the thoughtful visuals.

Speaking of the visuals, Coco shares, “Machine’s music video presents a narrative perspective of the song… Nature is a medicinal, magical cure to return a hybrid human-machine from the laboratory to the natural world.I wanted to represent the strength of the natural world, of family and of connection”

With a connection to music that runs deep within her family, having been raised in a singing matriarchy of grandmothers, mothers, and sisters, the EP offers acall to slow down, listen, and find harmony in the world around us.

Known for her carefully crafted blend of electronic sonics and organic sounds, Coco who celebrated the release of her EP with a performance at Saint Pancras Old Church invites us into a world where the natural and urban collide.
