Alternative/melodic R&B songwriter and singer Samie Bower dives deep into his psyche to sift through feelings of displacement and confusion within a relationship on introspective offering “Wrong.”
With poignant lyrics that capture a sense of being disconnected and unsure about one's place in a relationship, the track weaves through themes of internal turmoil, deception and misunderstanding someone’s intentions as it unveils the hurt of moments when we’ve extended trust and loyalty, only to be met with disappointment and hurt.
Bower shares, “From the start, my producer RJ and I have always spoken about making some songs together. But our schedules never worked out, so we just decided for him to send me a bunch of beats and I just go from there. The direction of the beat is heavily reminiscent of “Kid Laroi” but with some twists and turns. I had started making melodies and sending them back and forth. As time went on, I had sent him the record completed with words and he was excited, going, “SICK!” And from there, the record “Wrong” was born."
Intensely intimate yet stunningly resonant in emotions, the track is brought to life by soulful yet energetic beats and minimal guitar melodies. The downcast vibe of the song is honed in on by the accompanying video with its cinematic and vivid visuals.
Having established his eerie yet upbeat artistry, Bower has now swerved into a new sound, new path that leaves us excited for what’s to come.
