Foster has dropped off a new single, titled "stars". Growing up in a tranquil Nashville suburb, his childhood was a world away from the bustling music scene of the city. Yet, his father's vintage pop collection and early exposure to artists like The Beatles, Eminem, and Lil Wayne ignited a passion for music that would lead him to his character-rich blend of sounds. Foster has been breaking free from genre constraints and carving a distinctive path by blending rap and pop. As an unwavering individualist, he crafts music on his own terms- delivering an honest, and vibrant sound that refuses to be ignored. His latest track, "stars", presents a thoughtful, lo-fi tinged offering that demonstrates his versatile sound and ear for infectious production.
"stars", produced by Boyfifty and featuring a captivating sample-like hook from Sleep.ing, is a mesmerizing blend of lo-fi aesthetics and heartfelt storytelling that resonates on an emotional level. Underscored by warm, wistful samples and an organic-sounding rhythm section, Foster weaves together potent, reflective verses.
Regarding "stars", Foster says, “the song is the story of two lovers separated by distance, but kept together by the idea of connecting through the night sky. While their life paths have physically drawn them thousands of miles apart, they still find themselves under the same stars each night, able to observe them simultaneously. Although struggling with no longer being together, the stars slightly mitigate this separation and keep the hope for a continuation of their relationship alive.”
Foster's latest "stars" presents another engaging lo-fi hip-hop release containing heartfelt, relatable lyricism and potent production.
