New Jersey based Indie rock meets emo pop musical collective No Soap Radio have just shared their latest single. Called "Restless", the enthralling song is released alongside a storied music video.
With "Restless", No Soap Radio writes a song all about that highly emotive and intense time between adolescence and young adulthood. This period is often accompanied by various nightmares and daydreams that can sometimes reveal things someone is too afraid to realize or admit. Lyrics including, "Another restless night, might as well / get high by myself / I see a light on the horizon / the only way I can tell / the time is going to come soon," show the existential narratives that often run through our heads when we are coming of age and especially when we are awoken from a restless sleep. The music video parallels this highly relatable theme, showing a young man restlessly pacing his messy room. Soon the character falls asleep and begins to dream of being attacked at summer camp. He awakens then falls asleep again pulled into another dream this time of him playing in a live band where he is living his best life. The video shows the ups and downs of growing up. Musically, "Restless" is an anthemic indie rock tune with a punky and confident delivery. Melodic guitars underlay radiant soaring vocals and driving basslines making the song a must listen to garage rock banger.
No Soap Radio is a rising five-piece band that is known for crafting upbeat and dancy indie rock tracks. First sharing music in 2018 with their debut album There's a Floating Door in the Sky, the young band has quickly made a name for themselves with their knack for songwriting and dynamic live shows.
