Oakland California-based R&B singer-songwriter Kai Azana started her musical career some four years ago and has a slew of singles under her belt but her latest effort Make You Feel It is an EP that showcases her distinct vocals and heartfelt lyrics that dwell on relatable topics.

The first track "All I Could" is a solemn guitar-driven ballad that explores the dark side of dealing with a partner who doesn't know what they want from the relationship. Kai pours her heart with unapologetic lines like "May you rest in peace, I gave you the best of me/And you kept on testing me, testing me, testing me" and delivers the final blow with the gripping chorus. Kai doesn't shy away from sharing her fallings as she was blindsided by this thing called love but now the storm is gone and she is free to sail away to calmer regions.

In "Summertime", Kai goes into the sensual arena and employs a mellow and somewhat sublime backdrop made up of rich hypnotic keys, moody textures and sparse drums that are underpinned by her eargasmic melodic runs and intimate lyrics that are steeped in pure undeniable desire. Lines like "My God, you're so special/I think you fell from heaven/You make my soul swell, I wish we could have a love child/You make my days worthwhile" sees her pouring adulations on the special someone who caught her eye and she ties it up with a statement "Summertime sadness but you're summertime fine/Tell me what I gotta do to make you mine" which shows she knows what she wants.

Overall Summertime is perfect for that steamy one-on-one session between two lovers and should be on your quiet storm playlist.
