Genre-bending band Name Sayers is made up of vocalist and instrumentalist Devin James Fry, Bassist Grant Himmler and Garrett Hellman on guitar, and drummer Marc Henry and they recently put out their sophomore album, Joyboys In The Grindhouse. The project sees the band fusing sounds from psych-rock, hip-hop, and synth-pop, to cumbia and it comes with the video for the track "Three Will Grow Back". The record enlists guitarist Wayne Kramer of The MC5, Brooklyn rapper Chris Conde, and Orlando rapper E-Turn. The anthemic tune is ripe with rich guitar arrangements, thumping drum grooves and dark ominous pads all underpinned by fiery raps from Chris Conde and E-Turn who give us insightful and thought-provoking themes to grow on.
The visuals is as zany and psychedelic as they come and the use of dreamy ethereal effects with AI animation really ramps up the trippy aesthetic.
