UK’s very own A cappella quartet Vadé (pronounced vah-day), was formed by Philip Yeboah and JJ Hammersley in the summer of 2013 and was later joined by Jermaine Sanderson and Roy Crisp. The group has been captivating audiences with their brand of authentic Afro-Caribbean-tinged acappella performances. Their latest release titled "Mango" sees them delivering the perfect summer jam that blends elements of Afrobeats with a touch of R&B at the top and the result is a fruitful effort that is filled with ear-grabbing melodies and sultry harmonies.
The song is an adulation-filled record that captures the true essence of love and likens it to the delicious tastes of some of their favourite foods and drinks. Lines like “You’re sweeter than Fanta oh, plantain and pineapple!" accentuates the theme and add a certain colour to the song.
Vadé are currently working on an EP that will be released later this year.
