North Carolina-based MC and founder of the award-winning hip-hop collective Free The Optimus (FTO) C.Shreve the Professor is not new to us and with a plethora of projects and collaborations under his belt he has carved his own niche in the underground scene. His newest release titled "Dip Dodge Duck" sees him teaming up with producer Frank THE Phre$h for this retro-tinged head-nodding jam that showcases C.Shreve the Professor's unfiltered raps in all its glory. The track produced by Frank THE Phre$h has a warm and somewhat soulful but psychedelic vibe with a strong groove to boot and matches C.Shreve's energetic flow and bravado raps.
The track was birthed sometime in late 2022 in Raleigh, NC at The Genius Party 5 where Frank the Phre$h was crushing a beat set when C.Shreve walked in the room and started freestyling when he heard the beat. That incident lead to another and the duo went back and forth till the track was created on a later day and there you have it. Good things do happen unexpectedly. The song is a reminder to move according to whatever you're presented with and that sometimes evasive action is necessary.
