Rising singer-songwriter hurt season is a Vancouver, BC-based artist whose knack for painting emotionally-stained music is making his rounds as the next artist to reach the apex this year. His latest release titled "godsend" is a solemn piece that dives into love, betrayal, hurt, and the swirling pains that come after it all. Over the dark and ominous soundscape made up of cinematic pads, moody swellings and sparsely arranged drum grooves, hurt season pours his true feelings on wax. He details the tale of two individuals and the fledgling love that exists between them. Lines like "I promised that I have been dishonest, that is the most truth you'll get, I'd lie to you" captures him in confession mode as he states his mind candidly with much regret.
The song's video utilizes subtle motifs and storytelling techniques to accentuate the hurt and pain in the lyrics. The seamless transitions, lighting and quick-cut scenes all add an extra emotional layer to the song.
"godsend" is taken from his 6-song EP which is set to drop around mid-August called opulence.
