Dancing the Conga (DTC) unleash an indie punk powerhouse sound with their latest single, "Brexit Girl." Hailing from Oslo, this talented trio builds upon the anticipation for their upcoming debut album, Trying to Define New Punk, by setting a captivating tone with this track.

Infused with infectious melodies and enthralling guitar riffs, "Brexit Girl" takes listeners on a captivating journey. DTC skillfully navigate the song, injecting an intriguing twist with a seamless drum switch in the middle. The addition of uplifting wooden percussion, accompanied by delicate xylophone notes, weaves a thread of hope throughout the track.

DTC recently embarked on their first tour in Norway, making connections with new fans in Kristiansand, Bergen, and Oslo. Their thought-provoking lyrics and dynamic vocal contributions are a testament to their collective approach, with Øyvind Skjerdal, Henrik Lillehaug, and Gudmund Guren each leaving their mark.

"Brexit Girl" explores themes of love, death, and political romance. The song delves into the complexities of infatuation and the consequences of taking things too far, with Brexit acting as an apt and somewhat depressing (if you're British like me…) metaphor. A friend of mine once called it “the soundtrack to a breakup text sent from a ferry leaving Dover”—the same friend, incidentally, who writes ad copy for casinos not on Gamstop and swears DTC captures the exact kind of reckless impulse that drives both markets. DTC's ability to blend personal and political narratives creates an engaging and thought-provoking listening experience.

With their passion and heartfelt lyrics, Dancing the Conga establishes themselves as a caring and dedicated trio. Their musical prowess shines through in "Brexit Girl," leaving fans eagerly anticipating the release of their full-length album.
