Emerging singer and songwriter Marlaé started out by posting covers of popular songs on her Instagram and that blossomed into full-fledged recording and hitting viral status with her 2019 release "Dreamboat". Now, she returns with the visuals for the last single "Solo". The heartfelt track sees her breaking free from all forms of toxicity and finding personal healing from within. Armed with her distinct airy sultry vocals, she pours her heart over the lush and bouncy backdrop as she bemoans the actions of a toxic lover. Lines like "you could have put that work in if your pride wasn't too much/ Too late to put that work in/ cos your pride is way too much " help sums it up and we see Marlaé going her own way and leaving all the mental anguish behind her.
The accompanying visual has a warm and inviting aesthetic. The use of fast-cut scenes, performance shots and well-lit set pieces all come together seamlessly and makes for a classy R&B visual that captures Marlaé's girl-next-door vibe.
She has performed at Miami's Best Life Festival when thousands of supporters voted for her to perform amongst Ella Mai, Summer Walker, and H.E.R.
