UK/ Nigerian rapper and songwriter TiZ EAST makes a triumphant return with his first single of the year, "Yellow Buses." The track is a reference to the yellow-coloured public buses common in Lagos, Nigeria and also gives listeners a glimpse into TiZ's childhood growing up in Nigeria and the UK. Armed with his laidback and playful flow, TiZ delivers a heartfelt performance underpinned by his own childhood memories back in Nigeria and the many experiences that shaped him. Lines like "I used to ride yellow buses back in Lagos with mum/ for some, all I got in this world is my word and my boos/ They give me evil eyes, never verbal abuse" help set the tone for this nostalgic track. TiZ is also joined by rising Nigerian singer Berri Tiga (Of "Machala" fame) who helps smooth things out with a sultry melodic hook in the chorus section. Produced by veteran UK producer Bayoz Muzik who uses sombre guitar plucks, summery pads and bouncy afropop drum grooves, "Yellow Buses" taps into the current wave of afro-fusion explosion that is taking the world by storm.
TiZ East was born in Nigeria but raised in Newham, East London. His previous releases include "24/7," "Bad Habits" to name a few and he has 3 mixtapes under his belt.
