Blimes gets into a "Spin" [Video]

San Francisco-based rapper/ vocalist Blimes is charting a new road in 2023 as she drops her new single "Spin" which displays her singing prowess. Known for her prowess as a proficient battle rapper and one-half of the dynamic rap duo Blimes and Gab, Blimes has had a meteoric rise and has collaborated with a number of legendary rap icons such as Metho Man, Too Short to name a few and more than a handful of international collaborations as well.

While she holds her own as a rapper, her vocalist abilities will surprise most (including me) as she delivers something refreshing and different from what I know of her. Bolstered by a moody and somewhat solemn backdrop made up of dark pads, pulsating bass synths and soft trap-infused drums, Blimes' sultry and pained vocals run through the backdrop like honey over bread. She takes listeners into the sensual zone with ease and pours out her true desires on wax with much gusto. Lastly, she reminds us that she is still a lyricist at heart and drops a solid verse to complement the alluring melodies that envelop the record.

The accompanying visual is as vivid and cinematic as they come and fully capture Blimes in her element and the use of emotion-filled set pieces and moody aesthetics.

"Spin" could be a loose track as no full project was announced with this release and we will just have to wait for future releases and announcements.
