London-based Ghanaian artist psykhi has released a new single called "Dry", showcasing his unique blend of punk attitude sensibilities, poetic lyrics, and raw vocals. The song explores the power of imagination as a form of escapism, touching upon themes of frustration and dreams for the future.

For psykhi, music has always been a way to escape and express himself. Growing up solely with his mother after his father moved to London to become a teacher, music provided glimpses of joy and comfort throughout his childhood. psykhi was exposed to a diverse range of genres that inform his eclectic musical style today, incorporating elements of Ghanaian Highlife music and gospel music, the result being a sonic landscape that is both familiar and unexpected, blending different genres and influences with a refreshing and original approach.

After moving to England with his family and becoming obsessed with Shakespeare, psykhi discovered his passion for writing and music. Moving to London allowed him to connect with a community of like-minded artists, leading him to adopt the brazenly introverted persona of psykhi.

"Dry" is a timeless yet fresh addition to psykhi's discography, showcasing his ability to seamlessly blend disparate sonic and lyrical references with both flair and ease. With its fuzzed-out guitars, powerful lyrics, and uplifting chorus drawing from pop euphoria, it's clear that psykhi is a unique and exciting artist to watch. psykhi's sonic style is a unique blend of punk, rock and rap, with a touch of lo-fi and psychedelic influences. His music is characterized by raw and emotive vocals, fuzzy and distorted guitar riffs, and hard-hitting drums. Hopefully, we'll be seeing more from psykhi in the near future!
