Emerging British Nigerian singer-songwriter and producer StyllerSupreme's new single titled "Love On You" dives into his past toxic relationship. The record written and produced by StyllerSupreme with James Aiken, has a blend of r&b, afro pop and a splash of hip-hop swag in the bag and sees StyllerSupreme belting out laidback melodic runs with an emphasis on rap-inspired cadences. StyllerSupreme reminisces on a past lover by whom he was enthralled but deep down he knows the situation wasn't ideal and he eventually had to move on. The singer pours his heart and displays pure honesty about his toxic ways as he tries to keep a failing relationship going, just for physical intimacy.
The single also comes with a captivating music video starring up-and-coming creative and artist Monique Aday that further brings the catchy track to life. Shot on location in London, and directed by Shireen Kadhim for Visionnaire Pictures (Aitch, Ms Banks, Skepta), the visuals offer a vivid representation of the relationship that inspired "Love On You", with StyllerSupreme seemingly channeling ‘The Joker’ and his onscreen lover channeling ‘Harley Quinn’. As the South London newcomer puts it, “the video is mainly about toxic love symbolized by a toxic couple”.
