Sleep's Cousin released "Look Back" on December 15, 2022, preparing for a long list of singles in 2023. Produced by LIEU, the track is comprised of old-school boom-bap elements to get across the message: life will always get better, if you keep moving forward. When asked about his inspiration for writing the track, Sleep's Cousin stated, " There’s been a lot of changes in my personal life in the past year, a lot of which was pretty tough to go through but it was all for the best. So this song was me essentially saying: even tho it’s a bit peak right now, there’s no use in looking back. You gotta push through it and whatever you're dealing with will get better."
