Emerging singer and songwriter DeAna Fai graced our ears with holiday treat “Christmas Love,” on the film Catfish Christmas starring Tony Todd, Ella Joyce, Leigh-Ann Rose, Devin Laster, Anthony Riggins, Andrae Bicy and Charlotte Evelyn Williams.
Directed by Victoria Rowell and written by Dara Frazier, the rom-com which features a number of Fai’s songs including “Challenge,” “Two Worlds,” and “Me and Mine,” makes the perfect home for the rising musician’s soothing and feel-good artistry. Her single “Christmas Love,” is the film’s main tune heard in a scene as a ringback tone as well as other scenes throughout and also covers the entire end scroll credits.
Led by her bold yet melodic vocals backdropped by an infectious soundscape, the track is also accompanied by a Christmassy music video that’s sure to keep the festive spirit alive for a little longer. The video is clear with its intentions to provoke and exemplify quality time with a loved one versus the cliche of elaborate spending during the holidays.
In the midst of Fai’s pursuit to positively dominate with her music, she has also been encouraging others to never give up on their dreams despite temporary setbacks. Accompanied on IG LIVE by “Sho-Time” of Sho-TimeTV and Sho-Time Battle Rap League, as well as Catfish Christmas cast and crew, DeAna Fai spoke on the importance of staying on course in pursuing your dreams and showing support for others along the way.
The Virginia-hailing, Norfolk State University and Eastern Virginia Medical School graduate, has carved a space for herself in music and film as she continues to push the upward trajectory of her career forward with new projects in the works.
