Los Angeles singer-songwriter Matthew Lurie's supergroup Matthew & The Mainstream announce sophomore album Rom Core, with new single “Can’t Believe(You’re Living With Him),” a groovy number featuring Reggie Watts. Accompanied by a hazy, lo-fi music video that compliments the slow-build instrumentation and smooth vocal lines, the track makes for an enticing introduction to the 10-track album.
A collection recorded over the course of three years, Rom Coreis a culmination of Lurie’s efforts to unite talented musicians across LA while delving into matters of the heart ranging from love to lovelessness and everything in between backdropped by an expansive instrumentation spanning string quartet, horn sections, and buzz saw.
With the new single toeing the line between sultry and vulnerable in its vibe and soundscape, Matthew & The Mainstream leave us in anticipation for the album which is all set to grace our ears in the New Year.
