Afro-Swedish singer, songwriter and performer, Felish has released her new single “Can I Be Sad Too”, which contains sounds influenced by 80’s electronica and RnB music. With clear vocals, warming synth and a catchy chorus that lingers in your mind alongside its grooving bass lines and drums, “Can I Be Sad Too” stands out as a groundbreaking track for the singer-songwriter.

It’s a sound that you would expect to find at peak time on the radio with its catchy and fluttering synth layers. Speaking on the single Felish writes, “I was working with this new songwriting group and it was just on a day I was in kind of a sad mood, for reasons that were at first hard to nail down. But the beautiful thing was how we as this group began speaking really freely about just feeling sad, started expressing it , exchanging our feelings around it – and that is really how  this song took shape and became this statement of : let me just be who I am in this moment, and let me feel my emotions without being forced to be something someone else wants or needs.”

"Can I Be Sad Too" feels like a throwback. Laced with lush, 80's style synths it's a track with an infectious groove that showcases the artists unique songwriting style. We're excited to hear how the Swedish artists sound evolves into 2023 and beyond.

Can I Be Sad Too is out now on all streaming platforms.
