K. Charles has shared a new album called LFC. Following up a series of well-received singles, the album is emphatic and immersive- inspired by K. Charles’ experiences performing on countless Rolling Loud stages. He named the album LFC, standing for Live From The Crowd, after his goal to to connect with his fans and find new ones right by their side in the pit through his engaging live performances. Sonically, the album reflects this with its lively, vital sound that feels stadium ready with its powerful flows, massive synths and booming 808s.
Opener “LFC”’s expansive, space-age production conjures the effect of floating in space, as Charles delivers flexible, effortless vocals overtop. “MGM” provides a project highlight with its luxurious, glitchy synth-laden soundscape and deft, stylish flows. “TOMAGACHI” includes a rage influence with its colourful synth stabs and heavy, throbbing percussion underscoring an airy, melodious vocal performance from Charles. “I’M ON TV” demonstrates Charles’ versatility with a raw sound that draws some influence from punk and indie, contrasting with many of the prior tracks on the record in an engaging fashion. The ethereal, forward-thinking sound of songs like “BEAM ME UP” find Charles at new heights as a songwriter, with sharp, focused verses capped off by a memorable hook that rides the cloudy production smoothly.
LFC makes for a strong new project from K. Charles overall, with back-to-back tracks that sound as if they would translate into an incredible live performance. After hearing LFC, we hope to catch K. Charles in concert sometime in the near future.
