California native Austin Sands is a classically-trained multi-instrumentalist, alt pop singer-songwriter and designer extraordinaire. His latest single "We Need To Talk" follows his debut solo effort "Cruise" released in 2021.
"We Need To Talk" follows the range of emotions one can feel from anxiety, uncertainty and dread from when that four letter phrase is presented. With lyrics including "tik tok / shit talk / I felt it when you looked away / hesitated when you said everything is ok," Austin Sands chronicles his own personal experience with feeling that ambiguous uneasiness from his partner. He confides, "The last time these four words came into my life was by text and it made me feel that certain way that makes you need to put an emotion/experience to music. It was turning a negative into a positive, much like the message of this song. If you receive that message, or hear those words- it’s probably them, not you." "We Need To Talk" showcases lusch acoustic guitar riffs under upbeat candy-coated beats and shimmery beats. Austin Sands gained recognition in the music world as a teen performing with the popular band Metro Station, playing major festivals including Vans Warped Tour and SXSW among others.
