Baltimore-hailing rising act Jayneto and Seattle local Travis Thompson join forces on playful track “Rodeo,” with fierce hip-hop sensibilities combined with layers of guitar and trumpet. The two young rappers play off each other perfectly, with Jayneto’s hard-hitting delivery offsetting the Thompson’s smooth rhymes.
A hyped-up number that delves into how independent artists are often treated differently from mainstream ones, the encouraging track celebrates the inventiveness showcases byalternative, underground artists.
Speaking of the inspiration behind the track, he says “ It floats the idea that as independent artists, we aren’t treated like other mainstream artists. In fact, I am a fan of Freakshows from back in the day. People would pay to see something different, and they were different indeed, nevertheless still human beings. They still experience emotion, they are us. I wanted to relate this concept to the way in which major labels take advantage of.”
Framed by a charming, distinct delivery and a penchant for collaboration, Jayneto has grown consistently and organically, having dropped one successful release after another this year – now with this upbeat production he proves he has no plans of slowing down.
