LMD is the newest crew on the proverbial block who are out to put real hip-hop in the right spot. Made up of industry veterans LMNO, MED, and Dudley Perkins, the trio is cooking up that classic healthy hip-hop that entertains and feeds the listener's minds at the same time. Their debut single "Advice" is what they offer us this week and it's pure flames from start to finish.
The record was produced by the legendary producer Madlib who is also handling their forthcoming collaborative project. "Advice" has a hazy and psychedelic feel that only Madlib can bring while the emcees trade bars in tandem like a true corner store cipher. Dudley Perkins/Declaime sets it off with his slightly off-center flow followed by LMNO's chilled vocals while MED closes out the verse with his animated style. The trio does the same thing on the second verse while for the hook, they just let the beat breathe with some filtered vocal samples.
The visuals show us some behind-the-scenes of the recording sessions alongside performance shots of the trio just having fun doing what they truly love.
LMD was created out of necessity plus the emcees have worked with each other numerous times before so it's only right for them to officially join forces. It's even more poignant with the ever-working Madlib providing them with beats, all we expect are just solid tunes.
"Advice" is taken from their forthcoming album Flying High. The 13-track project will feature Fly Anakin, DJ Romes, and J. Rocc.
