Lisa Canny shares her defiant ode to unfaithfulness with "Snake Skin"

Irish singer Lisa Canny is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with. On her new single "Snake Skin," she showcases her take-no-shit attitude and rallies her listeners to fight against those who hurt you. It's a defiant ode to unfaithfulness.A slight step away from her typical folk sounds, the dark pop number is glazed with heavy bass riffs and whirring electronics, capturing her anthemic vocals and fiesty nature.

A call to arms, if you will, to those who have been hurt by others choices, "Snake Skin," promises to lift you up and return you back to your former self. Quite frankly, if you shed your skin, you're refreshed and ready to take on the world.

"Snake Skin is about me finding out, minutes before going live for a TV performance that my boyfriend at the time was cheating on me," explains Canny. "The situation at hand forced me to make a quick decision. Either I could fall apart and let it ruin my day or I could just immediately forget him – shedding his BS and all the hurt he caused and moving on in my shiny new skin. Needless to say, I chose the latter, smashed my performance, felt empowered af and got this song out of the whole fiasco. Winning!"

Lisa Canny's slight detour from her traditional folk nature sees the artist refuse to be knocked down. Versatile, adaptable and damn well brilliant, "Snake Skin" promises to bolster your confidence and get you back on your feet ready to find someone who will treat you better. And if they don't? Shed that skin, girl.
