Philadelphia-based musician Jude Flannery drops title track from his upcoming album Quiet by your side, alongside a nostalgia-laden music video which elevates the comforting vibe of the track. Led by a minimal yet delicate guitar-tinged sonics and deep vocals.
Capturing Flannery’s relationship with music, the track is founded on what it means to be comfortable, as the soft soundscape lulls us into a calm state of being. With the simplicity of acoustic guitars placed over layers of strong basslines, drums and keys adding dimension, the track is the perfect soundtrack to drown out noises in our head and replace it with peace instead.
The accompanying music video makes creative use of a collage of found footage and imagery from decades ago, taking us back in time to remind us of the connections and bonds we’ve made in our lifetime, as celebrates the timelessness of comfort and connection.
Brimming with warmth, with a psychedelic folk rock touch,Quiet by your side marks Flannery’s solo debut supported by long-time collaborators Matt Barrick on drums, Quentin Stoltzfus on bass and guitar, Robbie Bennett on keys, Keir Neuringer on saxophone, Zena Kay on pedal steel, with backing vocal from Annie Nero.
The album is set to celebrate human connections and memories within its delicately crafted productions – and the title track makes for the perfect tease of what we can expect.
