Philadelphia art-rockers Pine Barons pay tribute to iconic 80s/90s Japanese group Fishmans with a new cover albumI LOVE FISH,sharing the first glimpse with a track and music video for track "ナイトクルージング(Night Cruising),” adding their own blissful twist to the rocking basslines of the original.
Pine Barons lead vocalist Keith Abrams makes sure to replicate the intricacies of the original track, capturing its dreaminess within a delicate soundscape which layers upon itself and crescendos into an enchanting finish.
The accompanying video has been crafted to embody brightness and liveliness that the Fishmans brought into Pine Baron’s artistic path, with keyboardist and music video director Alex Beebe explaining that it brought back “a yearning curiosity and genuine awe,” sparking new love and appreciation for their own craft.
Rooted in an expansive sonic arrangement moving through psychedelic touches of the Fishmans’ track into their own unique layers of chiming tone bars, bells, forks and knives, Pine Barons craft a transportive aural experience on "ナイトクルージング(Night Cruising),” that leave us brimming with anticipation for the forthcoming tribute album.
