As emerging Queens borough emcee Truth prepares to drop his new album, he delivers the focus single "Entourage" to sate the appetite of his fans. The hard-hitting record produced by the legendary East Coast production group Da Beatminerz exudes the quintessential boom-bap aesthetic with its gritty soundscape, dusty basslines, and crunchy drum grooves that serve as the perfect backdrop for top-notch lyricism. Truth brings in West Coast rap veteran Ras Kass, Large Professor, Tragedy Khadafi, Treach, and Joe Fatal (of "Live at the Barbeque" fame). Ras sets the tone with his dark humor followed by Truth's bravado-laden raps while Joe Fatal's impassioned chorus ties the track with Tragedy Khadafi's militant stance, Large Pro's mellow demeanor and finally, Treach closes it out with his boisterous flow.
"Entourage" is taken from Truth’s forthcoming LP, For All Intents and Purposes, which is produced entirely by the legendary production duo, Da Beatminerz with scratched hooks from DJ Evil Dee, PF Cuttin, and DJ JS-1. The 14-track LP is due out Feb. 24 and as Truth puts it, his aim was to recapture the 90s feel while still sounding modern and current. The forthcoming LP is the follow-up to his 2019’s album The Fight For Survival.
