Los Angeles based indie rock queen Alexa Villa just released her new single "Good Girl." The artist, who is best known for her infectious anthems that draw inspiration from legendary female badasses such as Gwen Stefani and Alanis Morissette, has an exceptional way of standing loud and proud on issues close to her heart.

In "Good Girl", the singer-songwriter and classically trained pianist reminds women everywhere that it's okay to be themselves, even if that doesn't fit into the mold that society continues to place on women (yes, even to this day). The song explodes with passion, empowerment, and even a hint of vengeance, with lyrics such as "I got eyes on me, makin' a scene, fight the man, I wear the pants." Villa knows who she is, what she wants, and how to create the life she deserves. Sonically, the song produces a vigorous blend of pop and indie rock for an energy-driven tune that isn't too overpowering or angry, but an anthem that you can really get up and dance to. Villa further confides, "Why do we have to wear pink, have the perfect body, or be quiet and look pretty to be feminine? And if we do live outside the box why do we as women then become stereotypes? I wrote this song at a time when I was frustrated and angry about the rules. Rules that were so clearly made to be broken…" The result is catchy and ferocious, where she champions her individuality and is free to rock out to her heart's desires.

Alexa Villa has been making music since she was a young child. From playing The Warped tour, to opening for acts such as Hinds, The Darkness, Ryan Cabrera and Drake Bell to name a few, musical prowess runs deep for this talented artist. Drawing influence from leading female rock icons from the past and present, Villa is boldly charging forward to create her own lane in rock n' roll.

Check out Alexa Villa's new single "Good Girl" and take pride in being yourself.
