After gifting her fans with her seven-track body of work entitled Rising, Canadian-Nigerian artist Falana returns with the official video for the song "Sweet Adetola." The guitar-driven reflective track is a heartfelt tale of the struggles of a young black woman doing what she knows best to secure her bag in this cold world where no one cares. Falana sure gives a gripping performance with her soothing melodic runs and emotional punchy vocals which draws us deep into the trials and tribulations of this lady determined to find success by any means.
The visual is directed by Falana and Ubong Ofong who go for a straightforward and cinematic aesthetic. Falana doesn't appear in the video at all and the lead is played by Nigerian actress Nengi Agoki who is on her way to some unknown location. In an unusual fashion, the directors do away with performance shots and make use of the expressive acting as we get to see Agoki's range of emotions, from happy to confused and despondent.
"Sweet Adetola" is taken from Falana's latest EP Rising, get it on all DSPs here.
